I C -- I am serious also,,, I see no use for the PALs. They no longer deserve to be any consideration in the scheme of the world-- only how they are polluting the gene pool. Granted, not all Arabs or muslims are radical murderers but there are more than enough to cause world problems. This is a religion or people that you would ask the US to defend? Any one that believes "killing the unjust" is condoned is not thinking. "Unjust" is a perception.. who has the right to determine who is unjust? What unjust acts did the civilians killed by homocide bombers or Atta and friends commit? Had Hitler said the 3rd R was a religion the murder of millions of jews should be condoned according to that rubbish. "I think Al-Jazeera and the western media is one of the conduits to peace, although I think some in the media on both sides need to tone down their rhetoric. Maybe an exchange of some of the major players would be conducive to the journalist’s quest for truth." We certainly agree on that! Where we disagree--- I believe in peace. I saw enough war and participated in more than enough killing. However, I believe if you or the US is under any threat the threat has to be eliminated. Not buying off or pacifying those that are at the root of the problem as that only strengthens the enemy and delays the final result. The dead are never a threat to the living or to the US.

IC, Your statement is an indicator to me of the lack of leadership among the vast majority of moderate Muslims. They should be expressing outrage at those that attempt to usurp the true meaning of Islam. Islam preaches peace and justice. One of the basic teaching of Islam is a man should take more than one wife. As long as that is a teaching Islam will always be at war. Either enternal or external. As the birth rate of male and female is roughly 50-50 this requires and causes constant war. If the excess number of men are not killed off in war, soon their will be many men that would never have a wife. These men will not be happy and go out and start a war. <G> Muslims can’t understand why an America that claims to be fair and to protect the weak, is not defending Palestine from an Israeli invasion generations ago. In their eyes this is hypocritical and unjust, and consequently against their religion. First of all there never has been any country "Palestine" ever. This is a recent Arab myth. The west bank of so called "Palestine" was territory taken from Jordan when the Arabs attacked Israel in 1967. The Gaza strip of so called "Palestine" was territory taken Egypt in the same war. What Arabs really can`t understand is. Why if God is on there side can`t 100m Arabs defeat 6m jews in a war? 3 times they have tried and 3 times they were routed. So they can not believe that God is not on their side. Even as the evidence clearly shows that God is not on their side. They must manufacture a great satin to explain this away. And that is the U.S. Americans can’t understand why Muslims that claim to be tolerant and just, have tried to destroy the Jewish people. The same Jewish people that the world has persecuted for thousands of years and tried to exterminate in the Holocaust. Americans understand that Muslims are only tolerant and just if they are not in power. Or looking down the barrel of a gun.

Western leaders should let the entire Muslim know that we respect Islam, and would if necessary, fight to protect Islam and the Islamic holy places against crusaders, just as we fight for the safety of Jews. You have heard of Khomenei? well here are some of his teachings and remember little kids grow up and believe what they have been taught they have NO choice. Granted khomenei does not represent all of islam but he controlled a fair bunch of them.
