The New York Times reports that Mayo Shattuck III has resigned, effective immediately,
as head of the Alex (A.B) Brown unit of Deutschebank.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that $2.5 million in put options on American Airlines and United Airlines are unclaimed.
This is likely the result of the suspension in trading on the NYSE after the attacks which gave the Securities and Exchange
Commission time to be waiting when the owners showed up to redeem their put options.

Hi Baldur,

I do recall that there was a statement made after an investigation, and they stated that those who had purchased the puts prior to 9/11 had held them until the time of the notice to the press, sometime around the end of October. At that point, I had no way of verifying this information, so I let it slide. It could very well have been a case of something being swept under the rug, but there's just no way I know of to verify anything at all.

In all of the discussion of 9/11, what I find most troubling is the fact that the FAA/NORAD/Air Force seemed to deliberately stand down, and not follow normal procedure.

-R.

The conjecture at the time was terrorist organizations had bought those. Terrorists were also responsible for the anthrax scare. How difficult is it to trace those transactions back to their source. Did anyone take those profits? What about that scientist from the only lab that produced that particular strain of anthrax, where is he. Too many loose ends, that hopefully lead to a rope that somebody will hang himself with.
