Since you are up so early anyway, Jorj, about 4:30 AM take a taxi to the Tsukiji fish market. The wholesalers auction (perhaps the largest daily fish auction in the world) starts at 5AM and it is fascinating to see how much everything sells for (and how big some of the fish are). It lasts about an hour and then a few thousand well-choreographed wheelbarrows arrive to haul the goods to the wholesale shops.

Great fun for an insomniac. You will probably never want to eat fish again, too (although there should be nothing to really gross you out).

BTW, I believe that McDonalds in Japan uses local suppliers.
