the money is made by buying the unknown, laughed at story and holding until no one laughs anymore

I'd posit that 3G, and CDMA2000 in particular fall into that category right now. Nobody believes 3G is going to work (if you believe what you read in the press), heck, look at your own opinion from the last few posts (technology, who needs it? Bah Humbug!... ;-)). Besides, WCDMA is going to rule the world, thanks to it's relation to GSM dominance... right? Nokia and the Euro press tell us so on a daily basis... so it must be true...

A basic fundamental pattern in Wall Street is the last rally's winners don't play the next time around. Too much doubt.

Every situation is unique, and the past does not dictate the future. Otherwise I'd be sending you this via smoke signal or pony express. And didn't you just tell me that "doubt" is what you ought to be buying?

That's great that you got in early on Gold. I leaned more to Defense stocks, but whatever floats your boat. It still doesn't mean that we're going to go back to vacuum tubes and morse code. Technology will continue to go on, even while you sit and count your gold coins.
