You will have to find a transcript or recording of Intel's Apr 16 conf call. I listened to it and it is no longer available at www.intc.com It was noted that despite poor industry conditiond, revs and earnings came in due to manufacturing efficiencies and higher ASPs. One reason given for higher ASPs was increased speed of desktop processors. The other reason given by Intel was the outperformance of the server division, relative to exectations and previous results. Dell made similar comments more recently.
