My hunch is that there is real end demand from Indians because of possible war, and the rest is market speculation piggybacking on it.

The Dollar issue is overblown. The dollar has been at this exchange rate before without a surge in gold prices.

I think oil stocks are a sounder bet here, though we are entering a period of typical seasonal weakness.

TA almost always tells the story before the news is out. But.... gold has been cyclical in the past, so we'll see how far it goes this time.
