That is because Africa, far from being homogenous as a black continent, is actually polyracial and fiercely competitive, its tribes and larger groups, hating each other with a ferocity that makes racial tensions between whites and blacks elsewhere look pale. Trying to introduce birth control there seems to extinguish one of their main weapons, outpopulating the other guy, whether he be white or black.

Since birth control options, which would really improve the economies and health of subject nations are seen to be introduced by whites, they are immediately suspect. Nobody in Asia or Africa buys that Europeans have their best interests at heart. Well perhaps they don't exactly but the selfishness they may have should be revisited. Perhaps it benefits both parties. In other words maybe it is aimed at global concerns that they both must share. The Asians and Africans had better rethink. Far from losing ground, the stable population gains an advantage by not increasing consumption. Its economy is easier to manage, resources go further and relative skill levels rise with smaller families. The most well to do countries are actually relatively smaller given their resource base. And it is to the advantage of the European based nations that they trade with a better off nation with fewer health and poverty problems.
