OK, as long as nobody believes the good old days were that good. :-) I didn't know we had citizen involved politics. I'd say most of the time the citizenry is content to let the gov't pretty much run itself. It's only when things go badly wrong that they give up time from their normal lives to get involved. The 1930's. The 1960's. I do remember hearing that every great power runs for about 200 years. Is our time UP ??????? That's an approximation. Rome lasted significantly longer. The Hittites not close to that.
