We're not hearing any of the usual backchannel discussion and analysis. There's too much undertaken, in this hermetically-sealed administration, to carefully consider, or communicate to the American people. We don't count.

It is purely military diplomacy, and "all elements of national power" as Rumsfeld says. All elements except one: the wishes of the American people.

Here are mandarins who relish the exercise of power, and have a gleeful attitude towards war, regardless of the consequences domestically ("your threat level today is Orange. Have a nice day."), or sudden waiving of American lifestyle ("nukes are coming, nothing anyone can do"), while their own lifestyle can accomodate worldwide and domestic war (Rumsfeld, describing the US breaking down into terrorism as part of everyday life says, "I can live with that!"

It's clear we have to get rid of these guys if we are going to change the expectations of worlwide terrorist warfare in which we're the primary target. They seem to accept that WITHOUT RELUCTANCE, as if it is in their interest, like Dr. Strangelove. No bold challenge to Americans to secure their neighborhoods, no challenge to American industry to reduce dependency on Terrorist Oil, or technical companies to create inassailable detection for ABC weaponry and components.
