Wayne: Re Avino...

Not a bad week eh? :^)

I do hold some ASM. The reason it popped this week is (I think) because Ron Struthers issued a buy recommendation saying that "I think we can do better with this one than Corner Bay". I was sent a copy of his article by the company.

I'm surprised that Ron's so enthusiastic, but it's true that at a higher POS, ASM does have some very interesting prospects -- especially if they start doing some serious exploration work at the Avino mine. There's been only minimal drilling there since the original feasibility study (in about 1968!) There is of course a very modern processing facility at the mine, so ASM wouldn't need much capital to start up again.

The other thing (that Ron doesn't mention) is that currently Avino only owns 49% of the mine, as per the old Mexican ownership rules -- but I understand that talks are going on to consolidate the ownership under one company (i.e. combining the Canadian Avino and the Mexican Avino holdings). As 100% owners, they would be in a much better position to raise exploration capital than as minority owners, which is what they've been for the past 30+ years. So who knows what's possible? Ron states that the mine has "about 200 million ozs. of silver resources" -- and that "Avino has more silver resources per share than any other mining company in existence". Is this true? I'd be surprised if so -- perhaps Bob Johnson or others can comment on this?

Avino also owns half the famous Bralorne mine in BC, and this needs only a very small capital investment to start up again.

We shall see..... As with any of these companies, people should do their own DD.

Regards,
Howy
