Yes, if your mission is to maintain control over the Republic for as long as possible.

If, on the other hand you mission is to restore the American lifestyle, you would inspire the public to get involved, and look for ways to get the job done as a nation.

That isn't being done. Neither the goal, nor the methods are consistent with American ideals, or common sense.
