NO, I believe that the amnesty issue is pretty dead in the U.S. especially around the boarder states like California, Arizona, NewMexico, and Texas.

I beg to differ. It almost passed within the last few weeks as an amendment to some legislation [affecting INS that purportedly befenfits anti-terror; it also included some requirements for biometric technology on passports in the next few years [facial rec or finger print]. The Administration is still lobbying Congress to pass the amnesty under separate legilation. You also have President Fox moaning about a lot of good words and promises the Administration has made to Mexico and delivered on none of them.
