Like? I think he is a big jerk. I do NOT like people who act retarded to make other people laugh. Much of his movies especially his early ones were along this vein. Still, I do respect him for the enormous versatility in talent that he has demonstrated over the years and I like some of the old movies he was in (struggle to look past the dopeyness). I thought Cinderfella was cute and touching. I liked how he made the transition in the original Nutty Professor. There was another movie where he played something like 6 or 7 of the parts. It was in the sixties. He did it very well and earned my respect. I don't remember which one it was but I wonder if that had something to do with Eddy Murphy playing multiple roles in the remake (which Lewis produced).
