Arun,
Now you are getting warmed as soon as I mentioned the root cause of most of the social ills in Indian society perpetrated by Brahminism.
Are they legitimate questions? Well,
where am I missing the point when I mention about Draupadi? What is the deep moral value you are trying to paint? Can you not find all those good qualities in one man chosen by God? Why five? Are they not special characters? The Draupadi example is just one. There are hundreds of such examples. That example also reflects barbaric way in which they conducted their life. Why not adopt those epics according to to modern values?

Any person with an iota of common sense will ask all these questions?
Don't try to gloss over immoral value in those epics for the sack protecting Brahminism. There are lots of other literary works which inculcate higher moral, and yet practical, values than the ones you are trying to defend.

Let us not bicker about whether castism is evil or not. It is a given. Now the question is whether all educated people can be brave enough to advocate against castism and be an example by deed like what Mahatma Gandhi did.

On the war front I hope the sabre rattle will die down soon.
Both of them (Vajpay and Mus) are in a situation of no win.
I am not sure what Mus's control on those terrorist is though he has promised umpteen times. This is the last chance for him to prove. But definitely Mr. Vajpay has been cornered both politically and moraly on the Indian side due to his defense of RSS and VHP goons in Gujarat. Given the current economic and soon-to-be election season, the thinking may be to follow the time tested and well practiced political strategy of using external events to divert people's attention. Ultimately the only ones suffering will be as usual tax payers and ordinary citizens. Those (Indian) politicians may even find ways to make money out of such a war.
