Louis, over 400 sorts of cheese and 600 beers. Now that's what I call fine civilization.

Do you have any idea why your brothers to the north have such comparatively poor beer? Haven't been able to figure that one out.

OT Louis - one of the better meals I've ever had was near Waterloo. I forget the name of the town. Caterpillar has a plant near there.

Agree with you on the Brit fish and chips. The coffee takes a little time to get used to.

OT: Louis:

<<If you ever had to see (not even saying eat) their fish 'n chips, you understand why they prefer "booze".>>

LOL! A "chippie" is a mysterious place to those not acquainted with its offerings... As an expat Brit, I have to say that I miss real fish 'n chips a lot -- especially the old style when they were wrapped in newspaper! One thing you may not have tried yet a fairly recent innovation (invented in Scotland I think), which is a deep-fried Mars Bar in batter. Now if you think the fish is disgusting... :^)

<<you know why the Brits prefer to drink tea.(Just taste what they call "coffee" and you know why). ROFL.>>

I fully agree with you here. One of the reasons I emigrated was to get a decent cup of coffee!

Regards,
Howy
