(RSYS) announced today that it has released the EPC-3311, a single-slot CompactPCI form factor, PICMG 2.16 compliant, 1.2GHz Intel(R)Pentium(R)III processor-based single board computer as part of HP's Blade Server Alliance Program. The EPC-3311 has successfully passed the criteria for "HP Blade Server Ready" status and will be available from HP by the end of June. The EPC-3311 will enable HP's network equipment provider and service provider customers to consolidate traditional 1U rack servers into a blade configuration, allowing them to minimize their space requirements without sacrificing high performance and high reliability. The EPC-3311 is PICMG 2.16 compliant, which makes it ideal for use in switch fabric applications. When used in conjunction with the HP Blade Server bh7800 chassis, the EPC-3311 will deliver a very dense yet powerful solution for the increasing performance demands of network and service provider IT environments. The EPC-3311 is also PICMG 2 .9 and 2.1 compliant and has been designed for NEBS compliance. "We're pleased to become an 'HP Blade Server Ready' supplier of blade servers. The EPC-3311 will be a great extension to the HP line of blade servers," said Stuart Cohen, vice president for RadiSys. "This is the beginning of a series of products from RadiSys which will enhance HP's portfolio of solutions for the fast growing blade server market." "As the leader in carrier-grade blade server solutions, HP is thrilled to have RadiSys become a key supplier for our family of blade server solutions," said Mark Hudson, worldwide marketing manager, HP Business Critical Systems.
