Paul, no question that in a crash situation or with lower "core" earnings estimates COMPQ 800-1100 is doable IMO. Of course, Velo and some others mention the 300-500 range as the ultimate "theoretical" bottom. 90% drop from the COMPQ top at 5000 gives you 500 matching the DOW decline in the 1930s.

This tulipmania-like NDX chart shows that in 1995 NDX was below 500 and in 1990 NDX was at about 200. The 1995 value might be doable.
