Jacobson Partners To Buy Corning Appliance Controls Group

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Corning Inc. sold its Appliance Controls Group unit to private equity firm Jacobson Partners for an undisclosed amount.

In a press release Friday, Corning said the Sugar Grove, Ill. -based Appliance Controls Group had 2001 revenue of $85.1 million, and is composed of Harper- Wyman, which makes combustion components, and Oak Grigsby, a supplier of control components and systems.

The unit also has manufacturing and assembly operations in Princeton , Ill. ; Juarez, Mexico ; and Cleveland , Tenn.

Corning had 2001 sales of $6.27 billion.
