First time I've heard that theory. How proven is proven? And would a kimberlite level trees a hundred miles around?

Tunguska has been proven not to have been a meteorite but a very small kimberlite.

The title of the abstract you cite:

The 1908 Tunguska Catastrophe: a forming kimberlite?

Please note the punctuation at the end of the title. The question mark is generally an indication that the thesis in question is something other than "proven".
