I have no doubt who would have gotten the blame if this had happened on Clinton's watch.

Especially if it had been Clinton's dad running the CIA while CIA operatives were arming bin Laden and training his troups in counterterrorism (as well as arming, funding, and training Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein, and their buddies). Especially if the ONLY party to benefit from the terrorist attack had been Clinton's backers. Follow the money.

Actually the recession, the bear market, and the September 11 attacks are the result of the incompetent policies and disloyalty of the Clinton administration. The public has learned that they cannot casually elect a leader based on the razor-thin qualities presented by the television cameras of a left wing media, who very obviously pumped for this inferior being in both of his elections, and then ran a flat-out campaign for his chosen successor. The defeat of Bush in 2004 is already taken for granted as a lost cause by the informed members of his opposition. More and more the concept of "avoiding the next Clinton" is coming to dominate the subtle collective public perception. The images of the WTC destruction will follow them right into the voting booths, and the Dems can't fabricate nearly enough votes in East Coast cities to overcome that mega-trend...
