In the spirit of TV Guide:

Jeers to Anthony Elgindy for allegedly cheating, i.e. using inside information provided by the FBI to either short companies being investigated by the SEC or shaking them down.

Jeers to the FBI for allegedly aiding and abetting an individual with past securities indiscretions in Elgindy.

Cheers to the FBI for having the courage to admit they screwed up and for taking action accordingly.

Jeers to the US prosecutor for speculating in court, without presenting any hard evidence, that Elgindy might be a possible traitor to his country for trying to profit from foreknowledge of 9/11.

Jeers to the media, in particularly thesandiegochannel.com, for their sensationalistic and biased reporting of the above.

Jeers to the CEO of ADSX for, after it was revealed Elgindy targeted companies under SEC investigation, thinking it would be a good thing to put out a press release to gain sympathy for being one of them.

Jeers to anyone who thinks Elgindy's actions are in any way representative of the way most short-sellers do business.

And finally, Cheers to Brent Mudry for, as always, his excellent non-sensationalistic reporting for Stockwatch... in particular for setting the record straight about Elgindy's trading just before and after 9/11.

- Jeff

The linking of 9/11 to Elgindy's case could well backfire on the prosecutors

Agreed. Breen and the press may've done Anthony a really big favor with that one.
