Joan:

I have come to believe that it really isn't possible to teach people what a depression is, why they come along and what they are like when they do arrive. As you note, they are simply so far removed from most folks' understanding that it might as well be another planet.

Even though gold has provided some of us with excellent returns in a short period of time, I suspect this is just the beginning.

Three major central banks that have been quietly selling US assets for some time. I wrote about central bank selling out of the U.K. well over two years ago (and they have been at it on and off ever since). Close to two years ago, China commenced serious selling (to buy gold) and of course, now we have many others joining the parade. This too is in its early days.

Best, Earlie
