There is likely nothing wrong with Hal; maybe you are having him follow the wrong stocks, and or trading the wrong stocks on his advice (g).

Zeev is looking for a quick in-out trade, but for longer-term swing trades which Hal is looking for, while biased to only playing the upside, then the stocks to profitably trade off Hal's calls should maybe be periodically shuffled to more compelling value stocks (less risk).
