Not convincing.

Cheney and Rummy say basically, "we surrender, we'll have terrorism the rest of our lives, and it'll be even worse, but that's ok, you can live with that".

There's no plan, no timetable, other than trust us, we'll keep this up as part of our as-yet undisclosed agenda. What are the estimates for success?

What is the criteria for success? Tell me that, wise guy, and I'll be a lot more convinced.

Don't tell me about any "success" until you can define what that means. It is a question the administration is forced to ignore, but will keep being asked.

In any case, all that's claimed so far are a lot of non-accountable numbers, like in Vietnam's body counts, only this time it's X-number of "camps destroyed" and Y-number of individuals killed or captured.

Since we'll still be at risk the rest of our lives, how much did these camps matter? More important to that line of reasoning, what about the source of the funding, Saudi Arabia, the mother of all funding? They still kiss their robes and invite them to BBQs. I'd like to invite them to a BBQ allright...

And there are other places spawning terrorism too numerous to keep on any "axis" list for any length of time, all of whom want American out of their battles.

The notion that a billion muslims can be bombed into accepting American military force has to be questioned when increasing numbers of these claim they are willing to choose suicide. How many does Pakistan have?

I've read your posts, and you are willing to accept the idea of millions or tens of millions of deaths, as a solution. If that solution doesn't work it will create animosity greater than the punishment. It always has, unless there is occupation, and further acceptance of suicidal skirmishes forever..

Is that the plan?

Otherwise it all looks like an exercise in futility, of an extreme sort not seen since the Russian and China purges, which still failed to force acceptance on an unwilling populace.
