George, I am no sure about it, it is true for this year (sell calls being better than buys), since so far we did not have a real good buy signal, all buy were very mild and non post capitulation. Last year there were three dates where I declared "Fully loaded", January 3rd, April 3rd and September 21st, all three resulted in excellent moves up. I still feel much more comfortable playing during up moves than down moves, too bad the next few years are going to give us only short spurts of "positivism" between long stretches of indecision and market declines.

Best on dark side only because the markets been down more often than not

i would think in 1999 for instnace his bullish calls where more profitable than bearish
