Actually I put that stuff there to show most of the capacity and ASP calculations are fairly simple to calculate. Those links are excellent, all you need to know to get the order of magnitude right about demand (plus or minus 50%)

I compare my analysis to this rather cosmetic Fabless belief (see link below) that one needs to spend money and get into high tech (Kind of like TV adverts telling you need to spend more money to stay in fashion and up to date)....

Rather then try and understand the ever changing immensly complex world of the electronic sector, you just need to concern youself with demand, capacities, and where the screwups and bottle necks will be.

I found an interesting link (lost it for the moment)on this site showing that the 300mm Foundary fabs are expensive because it has to allow for process variation (different processes)

I find that a facinating implication to the 300mm issues wrt to the smaller fabs, warrenting some detailed investigation into how the semiconductor roulette wheel is going to spin...
