mr mark and Larry S., e-mail scanning on Yahoo: attachments can be scanned. Yahoo gives 3 options,,,

Scan With Norton Antivirus
Save to my Yahoo! Photo Album
Download File

For e-mail coming to my Outlook Express mailbox, the most effective solution has been to turn off the preview pane!
I see sender and subject and can permanently delete anything strange. Sometimes I get curious and right click on subject, then PROPERTIES>DETAILS>MESSAGE SOURCE lets me see content code. Sometimes the body of the message has malicious html content. Unless I open it, there is no problem. If I open an infected message, AVG scans it automatically and asks for instructions.

Hi mr. mark.

If desired, one can set up Outlook Express to download Hotmail e-mail messages from the MSN server to the local inbox and folders.

Best wishes,
