I must have asked the wrong question because I already knew the facts in your reply!

Here is another question:

Let's say Hal has identified a downtrend which has been ongoing for some time.

After a while, the market rises to a point such that your channel lines move far enough apart to kill the downchannel.

Can HAL consider the downchannel to be dead, without issuing a buy signal?
