No matter where the Jews went they were able to maintain their heritage.

There have been Jews who, chameleon-like, blended into their surroundings by anglicizing and americanizing and xyz ...izing their names and behaving like anybody but Jews, and in a good number of cases, others never knew any better who they were. There are Jews who go to great lengths to marry the most fair-skinned women in order to produce, over several generations, descendants that are virtually "indistinguishable" in looks ..............

There are also those who, dsm-like, are afraid to admit or deny they are Jews as if it is a goddamned shame to be a Jew.

The great Einstein once reviled against Jews changing their names to escape being recognized as Jews. (BTW, Golda (the late Israeli PM) re-Hebraized her name to Golda Meier from her divorced husband's Mayerson (sp?))

And I know of many Jews who have adopted Jesus as their Messiah and renounced Judaism. Maybe they have become too impatient waiting for their original Messiah?????

In my long association with Jews (many of them are avid chessplayers and so am I) I noticed that they tend to keep at least one portion of their residence unfinished in construction. My wife told me that the unfinished part serves as a reminder that the current residence is not a permanent residence: their final and permanent home is to be found in Israel! These are the true Jews who believe in tomorrow! But, of course, some folks think they are "finkos" and/or "two-timing" nogoodniks.

Needless to say, there are lots of Jews with an identity-crisis and more often than not, they end up making a nuisance of themselves and giving their compatriots a bad name. A good example is dsm!
