So true, but all too often companies install "Dilbertesque" nincompoops on the beachheads to frustrate and thwart that first wave of legitimate criticism. If you can get past them, you might make some headway with your complaint.

As I always tell my kids: "You can never argue with anyone making minimum wage. Does no good."

Actually, I believe Sears responded to the competitor "SnapOntools" who had been doing it for years and gaining quite a reputation with mechanics.

Competition is the primary force which corrects companies who don't meet the needs of the customer. Unfortunately, in the case of cable, the government has limited competition for far too long. Thus, service and response to customer complaints has been poor.
