Re Euro "rip-offs": it's the same effect as when UK went decimal with shillings - everybody felt shafted.

In the present case, my wife feels ripped off - the bagels & Co are up 5.6% y-2-y. My answer: look garden hoses (for instance) dropped 12.2% so the net effect (basket of x number of items, a whole newspaper page of them) is 1.6% up y2y in Germany. But I cant convince my wife. She's so emotional...;
