More than a few factory owners have received financial incentives such as tax breaks

Corporate welfare is socialistic, too.

But when it closes, that loyalty becomes a one-way road with the other lane cut off to increase, not preserve, the bottom line.....Can any American compete with $1.50/day or $1/hr wages and avoid homelessness? No..

Can any American corporation compete with corporations that pay their employees $1.50 a day and avoid bankruptcy? No.

Unions have accomplished much and the solutions to their current weaknesses are clearly as capitalist as capitalism can be.

In theory, yes. In practice, no. I've been a member of two unions (OCAW and Lithographers), and presently represent a lot of people who belong to the Postal Workers union.

They don't give a rat's hiney about the wellbeing of the company, and they hate the bosses. It's a very antagonistic posture. On both sides, as far as I can see.
