Well, geez, KT, saying they're as smart as generals isn't saying much. <g>

But yes, to be fair, it's easy to sit here in the peanut gallery and criticize ... and Rich, in that piece, was fair in pointing out that there's no way shrub wouldn't have acted if he'd been given specific info back in August -- it's what he hasn't done since that raises concern.

Somehow I don't see him as being the knock heads together, buck-stops here kind of guy that's needed at the moment to bring the various intelligence bureaucracies to heel. (Not that I think the other clown would have done any better).

Which brings to mind a rhetorical question: if somehow the American people could have known what was to come, would the 2000 primaries have produced other, better candidates, or would the politics of venal self-interests have prevailed as usual?
