MSI, As far as misinformation, or no information at all from the government, if you chose to see, you would have seen it in the FDR, JFK, LBJ, and Clinton administrations as well. I'm not sure that Jimmy Carter had sense enough to keep secrets. During the cold war, the Truman, and Eisenhower, administrations began to feel that the people could not be fully informed because of national security concerns. That concept has now grown, totally, out of proportion.

One of the main tenets of the liberals, is that the people of the nation are not qualified to live their own lives, educate their own children, or know anything about what the government is doing. The are considered sheep to be led by their noses in whatever direction the leading elite of the Socialist center chooses for them to go.
