That all depends on the will, and the economy.

Both will suffer in the US, if confidence isn't shored up, and spending brought under control. Let's see a few vetoes.

That requires a change of heart in this administration, to reassure the public they are avoiding secrecy and deception.

Also, public participation in our national defense is critical. Unlike ancient Rome, our citizens are aware instantly when a message is sent by Government Central that our only role at the moment is a vague and useless "be vigilant", and "you are all victims, nothing anyone can do about it". (What? be vigilant targets? Great. What color goes with victimhood...)

Those messages damage the confidence in both the economy and the admininstration, and in the American way of life in general.

Disaster results from going too far down that road.
The Roman empires may have lasted a fewmore centuries, in a debilitated state.

Not acceptable here.
