IC. You said....." According to Muslim scholars, there are some 40 possible readings of the Qur'an, of which 7 to 14 are legitimate.".....

Are you saying that the quran is full of mistakes and is not the word of allah?? If so I have to agree with you on that.

Lorne

IC, It appears that lorne has responded to your post in fine fashion. If, indeed, there are "40 possible readings readings of the Quran", then it must not be much of a book to consider valid in any content. What you are saying, is that one can pick and choose his actions, and find a way to justify it in the Quran. If that is the case, there is no reason for the religion of Islam to even exist, and claim any connection to the Quran.

I may have already said this, but I know there are some good people that profess to be Muslims, but as is true in many religions, and denominations, they either never completely read their "holy" books, or have chosen to ignore their precepts. My point is still that, the majority of Muslims in the world hope, and pray, for the destruction of Israel, and any nation that gives them any aid at all. Those that believe in peaceful co-existence, are in the minority.
