The massacres in Gujarat provide a chilling preview of what may lie ahead at the hands of a fundamentalist Hindu government. Don't be so sanguine about Hindu "unity" there. Once it is seen how easy it is to get away with murder and mayhem, the myriad Hindu castes can turn against one another and when (not if, when) that happens, the current mess will look like a picnic. You are slipping from the Third World to the Fourth and possibly the Fifth, and you are thrilled to death about it. Sheesh!
