This does not surprise me at all. Aspirin would probably cost a buck a pill if the drug comapnies were able to patent it. A classic example of putting profits before people.

"Give me the data!"; that sums it up. Anecdotal evidence should be taken with a grain of salt. Prove it in controlled studies! Remember that biased docs often will do just about anything to "prove" their point. Sometimes it is like a religion, sometimes it's for personal gains like fame, travels etc. (not necessarily money).
