I think the reality is that the big buys being made on second-hand equipment is big hype. I said it back then when all the crows were crowing about Cisco equipment being on eBay for cheap and I'll say it again: the second-hand equipment market is for SOHO's and small businesses. The big mission critical businesses will mostly continue to buy new equipment with service contracts from the primary source. It's all about risk management. If you need proof of this, take a look at Cisco's margins. They are improving, not decreasing. If used equipment was taking its toll, you'd definitely not see an improving margin situation at Cisco.
