It appears that CH has embraced pretentiousness as his next crutch on SI. His latest tactic is to mock the RWE and feign a secular opinion in order to curry favor with the left leaning and agnostic/atheist factions here. Such a phony.

I am amused because the concept of fair seems to me to imply some degree of intentionality.

I don't believe nature has that.

And if it did, I see no reason why it would care in the least what we think is and isn't fair.

Is it fair that a diamond can scratch glass? Is it fair that lions eat zebras?

It's total anthromorphizing to talk about mother not being fair. And yes, that amuses me.
