Thanks for all the comments, but they still do not get at the heart of that matter which is that the comments if there was such a paragraph in the mistaken invitation had to be either: (a) a joke OR (b)the most inept communication ever created. PR guys just do not communicate in such a style.

P.S. (edited) I agree that to expect high clockspeed at this point is farfetched. The fact that the architecture (generally - i.e., except for clockspeeds) works as planned is the important part right now, especially for Opteron (as compared to Clawhammer). Clawhammer, however, should be close to speed now if they are going to meet October timeline.

I read the "low performance" to mean "low clock speed", which is probably true as the current set of samples of the K8 are not tuned for max clock rates, rather to yield "stable" chips so that other issues may be debugged.

I continue to be of the belief that Hammer will not live up to it's hype. You think AMD marketing types are going to admit that now?
