you effectively discounted all of Poet's and E's complaints and reduced them to to a status of silliness.
I can understand how you might see it that way. I can tell you that I knew it was questionable and I thought twice before clicking on "submit."

I finally opted to post it in part because I was trying to lighten up the discussion a bit. The hostility level is way too high. Since it was iffy, in retrospect, maybe not the best judgment. I do not want to be a party to the aid and comfort. I wish the others were not, as well.

The other reason I posted it was to emphasize X's post that she also had been in the same situation and that she didn't like it either. You know, X has made it quite clear that she can't stand CH nor does she approve of what he did, but that doesn't seem to be registering with some. I don't see anyone cheering CH on. What I see is complexity. One of the things that has been so ugly about this flap is the fer-me-or-agin-me attitude. Things are rarely that simple.

Are their any limits to what you would include in the name of civility?

I wasn't talking about me. That's Neo's bag. You well know that Neo can no more ignore a post to him than some people can let a telephone ring. It's just not in his nature. He'd probably have a stroke if he had to do it. Do you want that?

As for me, I've been ignoring CH for about a year now. Betcha you never noticed that. People don't notice the quiet statements that others make.

Sometimes a subtle mocking is more uncivil than a frontal assault.
