IBM is firmly on the Linux band wagon ... heck they are even pushing their version of Linux for mainframes.

Regarding not ready for prime-time IBM has this to say about Linux: (http://www-1.ibm.com/linux/)

"Linux is a revolutionary Open Source platform that is stable, secure, scalable and powerful; offering today's businesses the flexibility to innovate for success."

These days IBM is looking more progressive than Sun - heck they are making money on J2EE with WebSphere, Visual Age for Java and more importantly agressively selling consulting services for all their products.
