John Petzinger, there are many different CPUs in this world, and I was trying to make a generalization that was not exclusive to a particular class of CPU, but rather to any CPU following MESI protocol. I know which CPUs and chipsets you are referring to, so you don't need to explain any farther.

And by the way, I found your last post very "obnoxious". Perhaps you can follow the rules of this thread as well, and please be more "courteous" and less "insulting" in your responses.
