That, along with this:

"We expect the beat to go on with Madison, Deerfield and Montecito," Poulin said. "We expect these performance improvements to really power the Itanium family moving forward."

Spells some serious advances in microprocessor technology. I really hope Itanium catches on with the infrastructure handicap, because it looks to be turning into the superior architecture that Intel originally promised (but failed to deliver) with Merced.
