Tokyo, May 29 (Bloomberg) -- Toshiba Corp., maker of Dynabook computers, said it will redevelop land where it used to operate an old factory.

Toshiba will meet the press at 3 p.m. local time to discuss details of the plan to develop the site, located in Kawasaki, near Tokyo, said spokeswoman Midori Suzuki.

Toshiba will spend 50 billion yen ($401 million) to develop 11 hectares of land jointly with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Japan's biggest real estate company, Nikkei Telecom news service said without citing anyone. The two companies are planning to build a large commercial center with a convention hall and stores, the report said.
