I went to Bank of America to open a checking account today. I found out that the offer for free EBPP only applies to people who have their paycheck automatically deposited to their checking account.

Thinking that automatic deposit would be a simple matter, I filled out the paper work and opened an account. Then I learned that my employer had to deposit my paycheck through some kind of special electronic transfer system that makes no sense for small employers to use.

I offered to have my employer open a business account at BOA and let them transfer funds from the business account my personal account themselves. They weren't interested because that would require a manual entry.

I immediately closed my new BOA account. I guess I'll just stick with Yahoo EBPP.
