This fact alone compromises my essential liberty.>> I don't understand your point? Are you trying to say that you are willing to give up any of your liberties in order to protect yourself from terrorists? You know, they didn't have this sort of trouble in Japan during WW2. Or in Soviet Russia during the Cold War. I could mention others, but I'm sure you get my point. If you want to live in a free society, there are risks. I'm willing to accept those risks to live in a place where I don't have to fear my own government. If you are foolish enough to think that US citizens don't need to fear their government, I suggest you read the US Constitution. If that doesn't convince you, then I'm not sure you are thinking. I'm really bothered by those nitwits in the US Senate who want to break down the walls between the CIA and FBI. Has it occured to them to think about why those walls were put there in the first place? So, I'll get back to my original question... If you are willing to give up your liberties for some safety, there are still a few places left in the world you can move to. I'll stay here (although the current political climate in this country is rapidly making this country less and less the kind of place I want to live in). I only ask that in your rush to give up your rights, you try not to give up mine. To prove my point, let me ask you a quick question. If it turns out that it would be illegal for the US Government to try the people currently being held in Guantanamo by Military Tribunals, would you still want them to do it anyway? This is a hypothetical question, doesn't matter if it really is illegal or not (although if you want to know the answer, click: law.cornell.edu . Chris
