The Administration does understand the implications of the situation...I just saw this little ditty...

American military officials made clear Tuesday they are worried that the dispute between Pakistan and India over the contested Kashmir region could disrupt the campaign against the al-Qaida in the anarchic tribal areas of western Pakistan.

"Attention and troops that cannot be focused there, because they're focused elsewhere, that's a concern for us, because we need as much assistance as possible in guarding that very porous border," Victoria Clarke, chief spokeswoman for Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, told reporters.

As I was reading through the many stories about India and Pakistan there seemed to be a single thread, if I may paraphrase, the Administration's approach in the situation. It runs something along the lines of......'C'mon India, don't be a bunch of wusses, stand up against terrorism, kick some Paki butt, if that's what you need to do. No one can criticize you for defending yourself. A real man would would.'
