Combjelly, Re: "if AMD is going to sample 90nm Hammers by the end of the year, doncha think they have some 193nm equipment somewhere?"

If they don't, they'll either have to get 193nm equipment by the end of the year, or figure out how to do it on 248nm equipment. And then there's the third option - slipping schedule (as if AMD's never done that before).

Sorry. I felt that was your implication. Besides, if AMD is going to sample 90nm Hammers by the end of the year, doncha think they have some 193nm equipment somewhere?

Not necessarily, as I have stated many times, 90nm can be done with 248nm Steppers and Phase Shifting. The throughput is horrible, but after all, these are "samples" eh? No need for high volume yet, is there?

"As Hector said, our confidence is high. Indeed we expect to have initial samples of Hammer products on our next generation 90nm technology node by the end of this year with production release mid next year which will enable significant penetration of the mobile market."

AMD is always "confident", even when they can't produce anything.
